REGULATORY INFORMATION

The professional activities of lawyers in Germany are governed by the following regulations:

BRAO – Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung (Federal Lawyers' Act)
BORA – Berufsordnung für Rechtsanwälte (Professional Code of Conduct for Lawyers)
FAO – Fachanwaltsordnung (Specialist Lawyers' Code)
CCBE Rules – Professional Rules for Lawyers in the European Community
RVG – Rechtsanwaltsvergütungsgesetz (Act on Lawyers' Fees)

PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE

In accordance with § 51 BRAO, lawyers in Germany are required to maintain professional liability insurance with a minimum coverage of €250,000.
